Content Administration Systems
Once the web site has been delivered it can be regarded
as a living, breathing entity and as such requires management
either regularly or from time to time. This can relate
to minor amendments to design or creating additional
site sections, content,
news stories
or press releases. There are three ways in which this
can be managed depending upon the requirements of company.
These are as follows:
- The client manages it
- I manage it
- A combination of the two
Client Manages it
Depending on the changes the ability for a company
to add/delete/edit content and images to their web site is becoming
increasing cost effective way of working. It does away with necessity
to employ a freelancer or agent for small amendments or additions.
I archive this by having a secure password protected back end content
admin system that allow you freedom to update your site 24/7 with
latest news to the world because, new news doesn't wait so why should
you.
I manage it
If I were to manage the site it would require the
client to simply request changes to be made to the site and I would
enact them accordingly. If changes
are to be regular then a scheduled
process would be put in place and charged according to requirements.
A combination of the two
A combination of the two would follow the same
processes. I would welcome further discussion in this area with
the client to ensure that the site management requirements of the
company are fully met.
